Eric Liddell ran because his deeply held conviction was he felt God’s pleasure when he ran.
Scottie Scheffler hits a golf ball the same way.
The world’s number one-ranked golfer, speaking recently to a group of kids, said something worth noting:
It’s not a bad thing to pursue excellence.
Then he told them why he plays golf.
Not for the ranking.
Not for the majors.
To glorify God.
A century apart. Same WHY.
Your WHY doesn’t diminish your drive — it purifies it – and if you’re being honest – it either
moves you forward focused on your race, or moving sideways, comparative to others. Pursuing
excellence is a GOOD thing, but the WHY is the key!
